7 Common Android problems and Solutions

Android phone as far as I am concerned is the most used smartphone in the world today because of its flexibility and user friendly features. Unfortunately, many users have lots of complains about issues they encounter while using this great smartphone OS. No need to worry because I have found out the common problems users encounter while using the android smartphone.

1. Insufficient Storage on device: This is one of the commonest problems people experience using the android device. First, let the explain how the storage space works on your phone. The ROM or inbuilt memory is divided into internal storage and phone storage
For example, your device is 8GB ROM, you need to  first understand that 8GB is not exactly 8GB, but 7.43 GB. The preinstalled apps you find in your phone when you purchased it also occupies about 500MB or more of your ROM.

The Internal storage on your ROM is less than 1.5GB and it only stores applications on your phone, which means every apps you have in your device is stored on your internal storage.
The phone storage is where your videos, musics, pictures and documents are stored and it is about 5.20GB or less.

What to do?
First option is to uninstall irrelevant apps on your device.

Option Two
Insert an SD card or Memory card.of about 8-16GB
-Go to Settings
-Click App
-Scroll to Downloaded
-Tap each application and click move to SD card.

2. System UI not working: Sometimes your System UI will start misbehaving and you get the "Unfortunately System UI stopped working...". Try restart your device and reboot. If it doesn't work, follow this steps:

-Go to Settings
- Click Apps
-Scroll right to ALL
-Search for System UI and click clear cache and restart your phone.

3. Downloaded videos not playing: Your preinstalled video app may not support the format of the videos your downloaded. Download MX player or VLC Player on Google playstore.

4. Download not working:
-Go to settings
-Click App
-Scroll right to App
-Click Download manager and clear cache and data, then restart your phone

5. Unable to surf the internet: Kindly check if your network provider APN is correctly typed.
For MTN subscribers use web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net
Airtel subscribers use internet.ng.airtel.com
Glo subscribers use gloflat
Etisalat subscribers use etisalat

6. Device not reading memory card:
-Go to settings
-Click storage
-Scroll Down and click Format SD card twice

7. If any of the above doesn't work then you may need to reset your phone:
-Go to settings
- Click Backup & Reset
- Click Factory Data reset then erase everything.
-Wait for it to reboot.
